She has a rare combination of striking beauty, ambition, eagerness for discovery and a wander lust. Being an avid traveler, Amy is currently studying Spanish. Having previously studied the German language for over seven years. For Amy, the beauty of traveling is in the discovery. Seeing something new and inviting in fresh perspectives, traveling is really a great educator. To discover inspiration from exploring new cultures. She has literally travelled the world, judging by her instagram. Amy’s latest adventure is to Spain, where she delights in the aesthetics of Barcelona. Enjoying Tapas of tomatoes, Spanish sardines, anchovies, a bruscheta with olive tapenade and Spanish beer at Barcelona Tapas Bar, ‘Bar LaPlata”. In her “admiring my future home” instagram post, Amy overlooks the city and takes in the view from the mountain top.
The adventure continues, as Amy and her party hike the beautiful Montserrat mountain range. One hour outside of Barcelona, Montserrat is famous for it’s Benedictine monastery which is well over one thousand years old. A spiritual center of Catalonia and the home of ‘La Moreneta,’ the Black Madonna wooden statue of the Virgin Mary and infant Jesus, is recognized as patroness of Catalonia. The unique formations of Montserrat which literally means “serrated mountain” in the Catalan language. Staying at the beautiful ‘Cal Benet’ vacation home is so fitting, as Amy and her friends hike to take in the scenery. Next stop is a trip to Galicia, in north west Spain in the city of Santiago de Compostela. The old town is a UNESCO world heritage site and is also a pilgrimage site. Santiago de Compostela and Montserrat are Spain’s pilgrim, spiritual sites which are linked by the Camino de Santiago route. The beautiful Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, which was built around the shrine to Saint James the Apostle is in the Romanesque style. The buttresses of the Cathedral framed against the blue sky are spectacular, in which the later additions of Gothic transepts and arches with Baroque details complete it’s beauty. The distinct Galician culture of the region has Celtic influences, which is evident in the local food and architecture. The majestic Granada Cathedral or Cathedral de La Encarnacion (Cathedral of the Incarnation), featuring a Renaissance style and beautiful stained glass dome, is breathtaking. Amy captures the main Baroque facade from the Plaza de las Pasiegas. Located in the Andalusia region of Spain. In the ‘Palace Sector” within the Alhambra medieval citadel which sits atop a hill, which overlooks Granada. The ‘Patio de Los Leones’ or the Court of the Lions with it’s distinctive Moorish architecture and exquisite fountain is not to be missed. Always traveling, Amy visits Seville Spain next. From the vantage point of the ‘Plaza Virgin de Los Reyes,’ the square frames Amy’s photo of The bell tower of the Seville Cathedral, ‘La Giralda’. The afternoon light illuminating the east facade. The awe inspiring bell tower, built in the twelfth century, was originally a minaret for the ‘Great Mosque of Seville,’ and is another UNESCO World Heritage Site. When it became Christian again, after the ‘Reconquista,’ a belfry and weather vane, or ‘Giraldillo’ were added. Converting the minaret into a bell tower in the Renaissance style. The orange tree lined street of ‘Calle Mateos Gago,’ in front of the Cathedral offers the perfect vantage point.
The Seville Cathedral is not to be missed at night, as Amy enjoys the perfect cocktail, a martini with a dash of vermouth and Spanish olives. Ten minutes west of the Cathedral is the Guadalquivir River, flowing through the heart of Seville. Walking along the banks of the river at dusk, Amy realized the beauty of Seville in her Instagram post. Sharing her “latest hobby” of posting variations of the same spots in Barcelona. Including the awe inspiring “Sagrada Familia” Basilica in the Eixample district of Barcelona. Capturing the beautiful architecture of Antonio Gaudi on Sant Jordi, or Sant George’s Day which is a festival of books and roses, held every April 23rd. The beautiful blue and white tiled Tapas bar, sets the seen for the rose and Diptique fragrance candle gift, which Amy received for this Spanish style Valentines Day. Showing off her book haul in the next frame, and all of the book stalls, filled with people commemorating the day. A holiday about love and books, and the love of books.

Evoking vintage glamour in the rich, jewel green tones against the warm browns and muted gold of the fall foliage. Who knew that the island of Mykonos in Greece would be so beautiful in January, as evidenced by Amy’s snapshots from the paradise which is the ‘Old Port Beach” in Chora (Mykonos Town). Exploring Mykonos in the off season has it’s advantages. Mykonos is the jewel of the Aegean, one of the most famous of the Cycladic islands, located just south of Athens. Amy takes in the waterfront of ‘Little Venice,’ the famed whitewashed houses and multicolored balconies, cobbled streets and the acquamarine Aegean Sea. Amy visited Austria after the New Year holidays.
The Schoenbrun Castle in Vienna Austria, it’s lemon yellow facade covered in snow makes it look like a confection. Vienna, Austria in January with a dusting of snow resembles the famous Topfenstrudel. Living out of a suitcase on her sojourn through Europe, Paris is next. Contemplating the beauty of the rooftops of Paris, from Point Neuf, the oldest standing bridge by the western point of Ile de La Cite, the birthplace of Paris. Stopping in for a glass of red wine and some pate and French bread at a local bistro by the iconic Tour de Eiffel at night, Amy’s sizzle reel proves that Paris really is the city of lights. Sampling some red wine in an outdoor cafe in her “magnificent start to February” post. A scroll through her instagram makes it seem like Amy is constantly traveling, which she is. Back on the road again not to miss Paris in the spring time. Amy returns to Paris in March to catch the first blush of Spring. Celebrating the start of Spring with Cherry Blossoms and spring wine in her “Oui oui baguette” post. Next stop New York City, “Head Over Heels” by Tears For Fears for the Statue of Liberty reel. There is nothing like the skyline as it stretches towards the horizon, from the helicopter for a remarkable view. The Hudson River glistening between the sky scrapers. Walking through lower Manhattan, noting the Freedom Tower landmark. A punctuation point as she walks the east village, The “Village Cigars” sign leaves an indelible mark with it’s cafes and downtown atmosphere. Her iconic selfie in the park in a sheer pullover, black lace balconette bra and black and brown Longchamp Paris tote is everything and captures ‘Lair de Temps’.
There is nothing like Chinatown to capture the spirit of lower manhattan. The New York City subway cannot be missed, as Amy rides the D train in her “Chocolate vanilla swirl with a cookie crunch” post, whilst wearing the peacock green Adidas Samba suede sneakers. On the way to Central Park where people ride E bikes, where the spring blossoms are beginning to unfurl. Amy and her bestie iconically pose in front of the pink sculpture art installation in the financial district. For the summer, Amy visited Nice, French Riviera sharing in her instagram post “first few days of early, nights, cultural experiences and good behavior”. She looks resplendent in a scoop neck tank top overlooking the beach. Amy enjoying a beer poolside in her instagram reel “somewhere in the South of France” is everything. Visiting Kerala India and Sri Lanka to cap off the summer were unforgettable experiences. The high point was visiting the Taj Majal, one of the most romantic places on earth.
